Birdie Smash Privacy Policy
Version: 2 · Effective: 7 November 2026
Birdie Smash is a badminton game by Murphysoft, an independent developer. This policy describes what the game actually does.
In short
- We collect no personal data and receive no data about you. We have no servers.
- No account is needed. You are never asked for a name, e-mail address or phone number.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob: a small banner in the menu and, only if you choose, a short video after a match for extra Feathers. Google's ad service processes some device data to deliver these ads (see "Ads").
- Apple services: the App Store for optional purchases, iCloud for backing up your progress, Game Center for achievements.
- There is no analytics or tracking tool of our own.
What stays on your device
Your progress is stored on your phone, in the game's own storage:
- settings (difficulty, match length, court, game mode, sound and language),
- your gear, outfits, Feathers, level and upgrades,
- your career stage, records and unlocked achievements,
- whether you have finished the training.
We cannot access this information. Deleting the game deletes it from your phone.
iCloud backup
If you are signed in to iCloud, the game also keeps a copy of the same progress in your own iCloud account (Apple's key-value storage), so a purchase or your career is not lost when you reinstall the game or change phones. This copy is stored by Apple under your Apple Account; we cannot see it. You can turn it off in iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud.
In-app purchases (optional)
You can buy Feather packs in the game. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your card details, name or Apple Account. The game records only which purchase was delivered, on your phone and in your iCloud backup, so the same purchase is never counted twice. Apple's terms and privacy policy apply to payments.
Game Center (optional)
Birdie Smash can use Apple's Game Center for achievements. Signing in is not required. If you sign in, the game reports only the achievements you have unlocked; this goes to Apple, not to us. The game does not read your name, e-mail address or friends list, and it does not store your player ID or send it anywhere else. You can turn Game Center off in iPhone Settings › Game Center.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The game shows a banner ad in the menu and, if you tap "+50% reward · watch an ad" after a match, a short video ad. There are no ads during a match and no ads that open on their own.
To deliver and measure these ads, Google's AdMob service (Google LLC) receives data from your phone: your IP address, device and operating system type, app version, a device advertising identifier only if you allow it (see below), and how you interact with the ads. Google uses this under its own privacy policy and how Google uses data from apps. We do not receive this data.
- Your choice in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland: on first launch Google's consent form may ask whether ads can be personalised. If you say no, you see non-personalised ads, and the game works the same.
- Tracking permission (iPhone): iOS may ask whether the game may track you across other apps. If you do not allow it, no advertising identifier is shared and the game works the same. You can change this in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Ads are limited to content suitable for all ages.
Sound, haptics and permissions
Racket sounds are generated on your phone. Haptics use your phone's vibration motor. The game does not ask for microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos or notification permission. The only permission it may ask for is tracking for ads (see "Ads").
Information Apple collects
The App Store keeps download and sales statistics. If you have turned on "Share with App Developers", Apple may share crash reports and aggregated usage statistics with developers. Apple collects this under its own policy; the game adds nothing to it. You can turn this off in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Children
Birdie Smash is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We collect no personal data from anyone. Ads are limited to content suitable for all ages.
Your rights
We keep no records about you, so there is no data of yours for us to access, correct or delete. For ad data, use Google's controls at myadcenter.google.com or contact Google. To remove your progress, delete the game and, if you want, its iCloud data (iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage). For Game Center and App Store data, contact Apple.
Changes
Before the game gains any new feature that collects data (for example online matches), this policy will be updated first, its version number will go up and the App Store privacy label will change to match.
